Last updated: 23 October 2026 Port Placer is an iPhone app for marking where surgical ports are placed on a body diagram. This policy explains what happens to what you put into it.
Port Placer has no accounts, no servers, and no analytics. Everything you save stays on your iPhone. The developer of Port Placer cannot see any of it. Nothing is sold, shared with advertisers, or sent to any third party.
Port Placer stores only what you enter:
This information is written to your device. It is not transmitted to the developer.
Port Placer is for recording how attendings set up ports, not for patient records. Do not enter patient names, dates of birth, record numbers or any other information that could identify a patient.
On your iPhone. Your saved cases live in the app's own storage on your device, protected by iOS device encryption. If you back up your iPhone to iCloud or a computer, that backup includes the app's data, as it does for any app; backups are governed by Apple's terms and are not accessible to the developer. Port Placer does not operate any server of its own. There is no Port Placer account to create and no Port Placer database that holds your information.
Port Placer asks for permission to add to your photo library only when you choose to save a diagram to Photos. It does not read your photo library.
A diagram or the App Store link only leaves the app when you choose to share it, using the iPhone share sheet, to the app or person you pick.
If you choose to send feedback, Port Placer opens your own email app with a message addressed to the developer. The message includes the app version and iOS version so a report says which build it came from. Nothing is sent unless you send the email yourself.
Port Placer is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect information from them.
Because your information lives only on your device, you control it directly:
Since the developer holds no copy of your information, requests to access or delete data can be carried out entirely by you, in the app. If you need help doing so, contact us at the address below.
Port Placer is a learning and note-taking aid. It is not a medical device and is not a substitute for clinical judgment.
If this policy changes, the date at the top will be updated, and the current version will always be available at this address.
